The protective mat is suitable for many home projects where surfaces need to be protected temporarily and perhaps for a slightly longer period of time. The thickness of the felt varies between 3-4 mm and makes a soft surface to protect the floor or furniture. The felt material is made of 70% Finnish waste textiles, such as work clothes. On one side of the felt there is a thin plastic film that prevents liquids from passing through.

- Do you maintain your lawnmower, chainsaw, car, etc. yourself? The Vilikkala protective mat prevents metal shavings and oil from spreading to the floor. The cotton in the felt is particularly good at absorbing oil.
- Are you organizing a party? If there are a lot of guests pouring into the ballroom, it is a good idea to protect the hallway with a protective mat that will keep water and small stones off the surfaces.
The material contains 30% new polyester binding fibers, 35% recycled fibers are cotton and another 35% polyester. The textiles have been removed from circulation at the end of their life cycle after industrial washing.
