Inventory on the way

Project felt is thicker than standard craft felt, ranging between 3-4 mm. The felt material is made from 70% Finnish textile waste, such as workwear. The material contains 30% new polyester binder fibers. The textiles have been removed from circulation at the end of their lifecycle after industrial washing.

The A3 sheet size is 297 mm x 420 mm
The pack contains 25 sheets; you can choose a mixed-color assortment or a single-color batch.

This sturdy recycled textile felt has numerous versatile applications that support everyday use at home and artistic inspirations.

⁃ Soft felt protects other materials as a liner for drawer bottoms or shelf surfaces, as a placemat on the table, or even as a seat cover in the sauna.

⁃ Felt is an excellent acoustic material that can be used for many projects combining acoustics and aesthetics.

⁃ The felt comes in cheerful colors and is easy to use for making ecological decorations for parties, such as bunting or Christmas tree ornaments. By cutting the felt, you can create lovely splashes of color for a child's room, for example.

⁃ The felt is also suitable for various processing machines and works well with both metal and woodwork. It can also be used as a reinforcing material in crafts. Pinterest is full of wonderful applications for felt.

⁃ Felt is relatively easy to sew or needle, although the thicker material does not always fit through all sewing machines. You can quickly make various storage pouches, sauna hats, storage baskets, pot covers, etc., out of felt.

Recycled textile felts are clean, and all hard parts of the garments, such as buttons and zippers, have been removed. There may be small remnants of hard parts within the felt.

The felt can be washed, which may cause it to pill, soften, and shrink slightly. The effects of washing vary by felt, but in general, the material withstands washing well, and shrinkage, for instance, is very minor.

The felt is made from fiber blends found in clothing, i.e., cotton, wool, and synthetic fibers such as polyester. Dust and microfibers associated with these fibers may shed from the felt. Such shedding occurs to varying degrees with all textiles.

The workwear has been opened back into fibers at Rester's production facility in Paimio. The recycled material has been finished into felt by Vilikkala in their Salo production facility. By using Vilikkala felt materials, you support the Finnish textile circular economy.

DELIVERY METHOD AND COSTS
The packaging and delivery costs for your order are €5.90. We offer free delivery within Finland for orders over €100. We ship your order as standard delivery to a Posti service point or parcel locker. Shipments can be tracked using a tracking number. Please note that Posti keeps parcels at the pick-up point for 5 days.

The delivery cost for rolled products is always 12 euros.

We use interesting ecological materials in our products, such as felt made from recycled plastic bottles and textile waste fibers.

Recycled fibers from clothing

Discarded textiles are clothes that have reached the end of their life cycle. They can be utilized in many ways. Blankets made from Vilikkala's recycled fibers are primarily derived from Finnish workwear that has been decommissioned at the end of its life cycle during industrial washing. Thus, they have become new raw material once again. The vibrant colors are the original colors of the garments and are part of a wonderful story.
