Inventory on the way

Project felt is thicker than standard craft felts, ranging between 3–4 mm. The felt material is made from 70% Finnish textile waste, such as workwear. It contains 30% new polyester binder fibers. The textiles were removed from circulation at the end of their life cycle after industrial washing.

The A4 sheet size is 210 mm x 297 mm
The pack contains 50 sheets; you can choose a mixed-color assortment or a single-color batch.

This sturdy recycled textile felt has numerous versatile applications that support everyday use at home and artistic inspiration.

⁃ The soft felt protects other materials when used as a drawer liner or shelf surface, a placemat on the table, or even as a seat cover in the sauna.

⁃ Felt is an excellent acoustic material that can be used for many projects that combine acoustics and aesthetics.

⁃ The felt comes in cheerful colors, making it easy to create eco-friendly decorations for parties, such as bunting or Christmas tree ornaments. You can cut the felt into lovely splashes of color for places like a child's room.

⁃ The felt is also suitable for various processing machines and can be combined with metal and woodwork. It can also be used as a reinforcing material in crafts. Pinterest is full of wonderful applications for felt.

⁃ Felt is relatively easy to sew or knit, although the thicker material may not pass through all sewing machines. You can quickly make various storage pouches, sauna hats, storage baskets, plant pot covers, etc., out of felt.

The recycled textile felts are clean, and all hard parts of the garments, such as buttons and zippers, have been removed. Small remnants of hard parts may occasionally be found in the felt.

The felt can be washed, which may cause it to pill, soften, and shrink slightly. The effects of washing vary by felt piece, but in general, the material withstands washing well, and shrinkage, for example, is very minimal.

The felt is made from fiber blends originally in clothing, such as cotton, wool, and synthetic fibers like polyester. Dust and microfibers related to these fibers may detach from the felt. These also detach to varying degrees from all textiles.

The workwear was opened back into fibers at Rester’s production facility in Paimio. The recycled material was finished into felt by Vilikkala at their Salo production site. By using Vilikkala's felt materials, you support the Finnish textile circular economy.

DELIVERY METHOD AND COSTS
The packaging and delivery costs for your order are €5.90. We offer free delivery within Finland for orders over €100. We ship your order as standard delivery to a Posti service point or parcel locker. Shipments can be tracked using a tracking number. Please note that Posti keeps parcels at the pick-up point for 5 days.

The delivery cost for rolled products is always 12 euros.

We use interesting ecological materials in our products, such as felt made from recycled plastic bottles and textile waste fibers.

Recycled fibers from clothing

Discarded textiles are clothes that have reached the end of their life cycle. They can be utilized in many ways. Blankets made from Vilikkala's recycled fibers are primarily derived from Finnish workwear that has been decommissioned at the end of its life cycle during industrial washing. Thus, they have become new raw material once again. The vibrant colors are the original colors of the garments and are part of a wonderful story.
